One Day of Work at Frau Wenk

Having already shown you how we work by presenting our hybrid concept, we would like to give you an idea of what we actually do at work. To do this, we looked over the shoulders of our consultants Vanessa Borzi, Anne-Kathrin Richter and Selina Schreiber for one day and created a timeline to show you what a typical day at Frau Wenk looks like.

    The consultants search the media landscape for the latest trends that might suit their own customers.

  • 9:00 Uhr

    Internal team meeting

    The entire Frau Wenk team gets together, now mostly virtually, and talks about the most important news and To-Dos of the day.

  • 9:30 Uhr

    Dispatching a press release

    The best time to send out a press release is in the morning - at 9:30 a.m. at the latest, in order to reach as many journalists as possible before they have already planned their day in terms of content.

    The exchange with you, our customers, usually also takes place in the morning in order to plan ahead for the next days, weeks and months. 

  • 11:00 Uhr

    Thematic brainstorming sessions in a larger group

    It often helps to include colleagues into the planning process, who otherwise tend to work less frequently with the customer, and thus have a clear view of the matter.

    Writing a briefing for a byline

    Based on the newsjacking, calls or brainstorming sessions, ideas with regard to topics for bylines often develop. Together with the client, the consultant prepares a briefing for the article.

    Provide briefing to content team for processing

    The consultant then hands over the created briefing to the content team for text production. As a rule, each client is also assigned a designated author who is already familiar with the writing style and content.

    Lunch break

    If possible, we eat lunch together in our office kitchen. #Teamlunch

    Contacting journalists to pitch the byline

    The establishment and maintenance of important contacts in the media is one of the core tasks of our consulting team. Especially when it comes to pitching contributions or presenting issues.

    Reporting of the press release

    Towards the afternoon, it is worth taking a first look at the performance of the press release sent out in the morning. Which media took it up? And what is the reach of this media outlet?

  • 15:00 Uhr

    Medium-term concept and strategy planning

    This item may not be on the To Do list every day, but that doesn't make it any less important to always follow through with a clear plan for each client.

  • 17:00 Uhr

    Proofreading the article

    Once the first draft of the byline (see above) has been completed by the content team, the consultant does the first proofreading. As soon as he is happy with it, the text is sent on to the client.
